Everything ready in time for the big day

    Wedding checklist by phase

A clear to-do list for the run-up to your wedding. Work through it at your own pace, skip the steps that don't apply.

    How this checklist works

No two weddings look the same. This list assumes a classic ceremony plus reception with 80 to 150 guests and about a year of planning. Shorter or longer runway? Just shift the phases. Tick what fits, cross out what doesn't.

    Checklist by phase

    1. 12+ months out

      Laying the foundation

      • Pick two or three possible dates
      • Set a realistic budget and split it by category
      • Draft an initial guest list, even if it's not final
      • Visit venues and book the one you're sure about
      • Select a photographer, they get booked up early
    2. 6 to 9 months out

      Filling in the big picture

      • Send save-the-dates, digital is perfectly fine
      • Choose wedding attire and schedule fittings
      • Book the caterer or agree the menu with the venue
      • Decide on music: DJ, band or playlist, and agree breaks
      • Find a master of ceremonies or ask a witness to take it on
    3. 3 to 6 months out

      Locking in the details

      • Order the wedding rings, factor in engraving and delivery time
      • Send the official invitations with RSVP
      • Work out the decor: seating, flowers, lighting
      • Book the honeymoon or at least the first night
      • Arrange transport for the couple and, if useful, for guests
    4. 1 month out

      Home stretch

      • Tasting menu with the caterer and final menu locked in
      • Chase missing RSVPs personally
      • Trial hair and make-up
      • Finalise the timeline and share with vendors
      • Set up a way to collect every photo from your guests so nothing gets lost afterwards

For that last one: a Partylio QR code on every table saves you hours of digging through group chats after the wedding. Guests scan and upload, you get everything in one bundle.

    5. The week of + the day itself

      Let go and enjoy

      • Collect the wedding rings and any paperwork
      • Pack a bag for the first night and the honeymoon
      • Confirm final details with the venue, photographer and DJ
      • Plan a welcome drink or breakfast for close family
      • Get to bed early the night before, best decision you'll make
